The latest stable release of Blender is Blender 4.0.2, released on December 5, 2023. It is the second minor release of Blender 4.0. The main changes in Blender 4.0.2 are:

• Improved Cycles Light Linking: Cycles Light Linking now supports grouping lights and controlling their visibility and influence separately.
• New Principled BSDF shader: The Principled BSDF shader has been redesigned with a new interface and improved features.
• Better Color Management: Blender's color management system has been updated to support the VFX Reference Platform 2023.
• Geometry Nodes repeat zone: The repeat zone node in Geometry Nodes has been improved to make it easier to create repeating patterns.
