Render4you Redshift Render Farm has rolled out an update, bringing its Redshift version up to 2025.1.0.
Please be aware that all tasks utilizing Redshift release 3.6 will now be using version 3.6.04. If you require a different version for your specific needs, we are happy to provide you with a custom version.
Earlier versions will be processed using Redshift versions 2.6.56 and 3.0.67, respectively.
Key Updates and Fixes
Cinema 4D
- Added support for Light Materials in Node workflows.
- Material previews for certain shaders now use a 2D plane for more accurate representation.
- Fixed crashes and bugs related to proxies, RSLight object handles, and Multi-Pass image extensions.
- Resolved inconsistent image ordering in MultiShader and redundant baking of substances.
Maya
- Introduced support for the Maya native standardSurface shader.
- Added compatibility for Maya 2025 on Linux.
- Fixed crashes when xgen was loaded after Redshift on Linux/macOS.
- Addressed issues with post-effects nodes and unnecessary log messages in the script editor.
3ds Max
- Fixed several Deadline-related bugs, including incorrect filenames for AOVs and overwritten output files.
- Resolved issues with RGBA values, GI on instanced objects, and global light group settings for AOVs.
Houdini
- Added support for Houdini 20.5.370 and dropped support for older versions.
- Introduced a new environment variable, "REDSHIFT_OVERRIDE_LOG_LEVEL," for log error customization.
- Fixed motion blur issues with volume instances and crashes when rendering invalid volume grids.
Hydra (Solaris)
- Added live updates for UsdSkel deformations and support for volume scattering tint shaders.
- Fixed bugs affecting Jitter shader stability, motion blur, EXR layer names, and AOV denoising in proxy scenes.
Katana
- Resolved issues with motion blur for volumes and volume instances.
- Improved live rendering stability on Katana 6.5.
Blender
- Completed Distance shader implementation by adding the "traceset" parameter.
Metal
- Fixed VRAM resets in IPR when using dome lights on M3 Pro/Max.
- Resolved random memory leaks in IPR.
Redshift RT
- Improved light sampling for better rendering efficiency.
- Fixed a Maya bug where hair shadows were incorrectly rendered in front of objects.
General Enhancements
- Introduced an alternative shading normal adaptation technique.
- Added new interior color and Tile Scale Bias options to shaders.
- Upgraded OpenImageIO to 2.5.15 and OpenVDB to 10.1.0.
- Resolved crashes, rendering artifacts, and texture mapping issues across various platforms.
